Our History

More than a century of Scouting in Caldwell

Troop 3 was chartered in 1917 and has been sponsored ever since by the Methodist Church in Caldwell, New Jersey. This program from our Golden Anniversary celebration in 1967 marked our first 50 years of service — and today, decades later, Troop 3 is still teaching the same outdoor skills, leadership, and character that generations of Scouts before us learned.

Learn the Scout Oath and Law, Scout sign/salute/handshake, basic knots, and personal fitness.

Tenderfoot

Build foundational camping, cooking, hiking, first aid, swimming, and Scout-spirit skills.

Second Class

Develop outdoor skills, navigation, first aid, Leave No Trace awareness, and service.

First Class

Strengthen hiking, navigation, swimming, first aid, service, and leadership abilities.

Star

Continue leadership and service while earning merit badges, including required badges.

Life

Take on greater leadership, earn additional merit badges, and lead a significant service project.

Eagle Scout
